Make a payment

Direct Debit
Direct Debit is a hassle-free way to pay your regular bills. View more information regarding Direct Debit, or for Council Tax and Business Rates you can arrange a Direct Debit over the telephone, without completing a form, by calling the number printed on your bill.

Online Payments
The majority of Nottingham City Council accounts, bills, and invoices can be paid online using major debit and credit cards. Follow this link to use our online payment facility.

Telephone Payments
The majority of Nottingham City Council accounts, bills, and invoices can be paid over the telephone using major debit and credit cards.

To make a payment, telephone our operator assisted service on 0115 9155520, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. Alternatively, telephone our automated freephone hotline on 0800 0520173 any time.

Post Office
Post OfficeYou can pay Council Tax and Housing Rent at any Post Office. Post Offices will accept payment in cash, by cheque (payable to "Post Office Counters Ltd) or most major debit cards. You can use this payment method whenever there is a bar code printed on the front of your bill or rent card. Please take care of your documents as should the bar code become damaged it may become unreadable. A separate receipt will be issued which you can attach to your payment documentation. Please keep all receipts safe. There is no charge for this service.

PayPoint
Paypoint
You can pay Council Tax and Housing Rent at any PayPoint outlet where you see this logo. Payment must be in cash. You can use this payment method whenever there is a bar code printed on the front of your bill or rent card. Please take care of your documents as should the bar code become damaged it may become unreadable. A separate receipt will be issued which you can attach to your payment documentation. Please keep all receipts safe. Details of your local outlet can be found at the PayPoint website. There is no charge for this service.

Council Payment Offices
Payment may be made at the Guildhall, Burton Street, or most of the Council's District Housing Offices. Office hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday except Wednesday, when City Finance opens for payments at 9:00am and the Housing Offices at 10:00am.  All our Area Housing Offices (except Victoria Centre) have cash collection facilities.
