Infopoint / Guildhall Reception – New Arrangements
from 9 May 2007
The current Infopoint will now move to the new
Contact Centre on the Ground Floor of the ‘Treasury’ building. This will effectively take place on 9 May (and may run into 10 May).
From 9
May, the main entrance into Infopoint and the old Guildhall will be closed permanently (as agreed by
the Acting Director of Corporate Services and Deputy Chief Executive).
The
new arrangements from 9 May 2007 are as follows:
- All
visitors are to be asked to report to the new Contact Centre Reception, on Burton Street
- (a)
In respect of visitors for the CEO and Deputy CEO, an escorted service will be provided from the Contact
Centre Reception
(b) Members and Council Staff visiting the CEO / Deputy CEO have door
access codes and can access the building via South Sherwood Street entrance (adjacent to Committee Services
/ Elections and up one flight of stairs)
- All other visitors
who have meetings with Staff other than the CEO / Deputy CEO, must be collected from the Contact Centre
Reception area and escorted through the building. Visitor badges must be visible at all times and visitors must sign in / out at the reception area
- For
fire evacuation purposes, evacuation routes are via South Sherwood Street, back yard (x2) and outside
Premises Support side door
Transforming
the customer experience for you
A major transformation has taken place at the Guildhall on Burton Street, to convert
it from a reception point into a bright and welcoming information centre where customers can access
information about all council and related information under one roof in the City Centre.
Customers can obtain information about council services, pick
up a wide range of leaflets, obtain information about job opportunities and much more - all information
is arranged in a series of brightly-lit display stands for ease of access.
This project is part of the larger scheme of the City Council’s Customer Transformation
initiative, helping the public get in touch with the Council with ease and enabling them to find out
exactly what we can do for them and how.
Infopoint is a single point in the heart of the city where customers
can access information about council services and is only one part of the Council’s drive to improve
access to Council services – other joint centres around the city include the new Clifton Cornerstone
centre that provide local point of access to council service information as well as a variety of housing,
health and social care information.
Service Advisers are also close at hand to help and guide customers to the information
relevant to their needs.
