The Highway Maintenance Team seeks to maintain the City's highway network in a safe and structurally sound condition for the use of the public. We aim to minimise risk to highway users by monitoring, reviewing and assessing the condition of our highways and by planning to predict the funding needed to maintain the network to a high standard.

We review and develop the City Council's Highway Network Management Plan and work to enhance the environmental condition of roads, pavements and street furniture including bus shelters. We maintain street lighting and road signs and ensure the proper marking of roads.
