The community areas used in the profiles below have been created to provide Census data for areas people recognise and frequently ask the City Council about.  Area Committees were consulted on the boundaries.

These communities have been created solely for statistical purposes and are not official administrative areas.  Areas have been built up from the smallest Census areas - Output Areas.  Each community profile is accompanied by a map to allow you to identify the boundaries used.  Community areas do not match ward boundaries, even if they share the same name, eg Sherwood.  The communities are contained within the City Council boundary.
