The English Indices of Deprivation, 2007
The Department for Communities and Local Government published the latest Indices of Deprivation on 6th December 2007 as an update to the 2004 Indices. The Indices rank areas of England according to levels of deprivation. The Indices are an important resource to aid policy development and area working.
The Indices are developed by using a numbers of statistics for different types of deprivation, called domains. These results are then used to calculate an overall score, called the Index of Multiple Deprivation or IMD.
Results for the whole of England can be found on the DCLG website.
The City Council has produced a compendium of results for the City of Nottingham, available below.
