Gender Equality Scheme 2007 - 2010

Proud to Present our Gender Equality Scheme 2007-2010

We are proud to be able to present Nottingham City Council’s first Gender Equality Scheme 2007-2010.

The Equality Act 2006 amended the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 to ensure public authorities, like Nottingham City Council, are proactively tackling gender inequality. However, as a Council we aspire to go beyond basic compliance and to work to make gender, including transgender, equality a reality for Nottingham people.

The scheme outlines how Nottingham City Council will promote equality of opportunity between men and women, including transgender people, and eliminate unlawful harassment and discrimination on the grounds of gender. The scheme covers both employment and service delivery.
