Not yet received your Veterans badge?

Men and women who have served in HM Armed Forces are entitled to a Veterans Badge.

At the Veterans Weekend event at Wollaton Hall, Gardens & Deer Park on Sunday 22 June there will be a formal presentation of badges to veterans from throughout the region who have yet to receive theirs.

To be part of this presentation, simply download the form available on this site (go to Veterans Badge Application), complete and send to the address shown.

The Veterans Badge can only be issued posthumously to either War Widows or Widowers receiving a War Widows or Widowers pension from Service Personnel and Veterans Agency.

Please note that this form can also be used if you would like to request a Veterans Badge, but do not want to take part in the presentation on 22 June.

Launch of Veterans Celebrations 2008

Nottingham Council House, Wednesday 12 March

Wednesday 12 March, saw the official launch of Nottingham City Council’s programme for celebrating National Veterans Day 2008. The launch took place at the Council House, where the Lord Mayor welcomed veterans of the tri-services, before the programme announcement was made by Major D G Rhodes, a member of the Veterans Celebrations Steering Group.

Nottingham City Council is working in close partnership with military organisations to deliver the programme that aims to celebrate, honour and unite all veterans.

Veterans who attended the launch heard about they could get involved in the celebrations that will take place throughout May and June, and include the 1940’s Knees-Up at The Museum of Nottingham Life at Brewhouse Yard on Bank Holiday Monday 5 May and the East Midlands flagship Veterans event at Wollaton Hall, Gardens & Deer Park on Saturday 21 & Sunday 22 June.

This year’s veterans celebrations will mark the 100th anniversary of the TA and 90 years of the RAF.

Veterans Celebrations begin!

Nottingham City Council's programme for celebrating National Veterans Day began on Bank Holiday Monday 5 May, with a 1940s Knees-Up at The Museum of Nottingham Life at Brewhouse Yard. Visitors were invited to come along to relive the atmosphere on the homefront during the 1940s war years. It was a fantastic event which was attended by over 2500 people. The sun was shining and the day was enjoyed by all, young and old.
