To celebrate, honour and unite all veterans, each year Nottingham City Council hosts a programme of events and activities for everyone to enjoy.

Veterans Weekend 2009
26-28 June, 11am -5pm
Wollaton Hall, Gardens & Deer Park

Wollaton Hall, an Elizabethan mansion set in a 500 acre Deer Park, is a magnificent setting for a grand Veterans Day celebration!

Organised by Nottingham City Council in partnership with military organisations the weekend will be an extravaganza of activity. Special tours will bring history to life as visitors discover what it was like during WW2 and the 508 PIR living history re-enactment group will set up camp in the park.

A showcase for our modern armed forces, reserve forces and cadets, the event will feature an 'It's a Knock Out' competition, run by the tri-services. Contestants will take part in mental and physical challenges, such as a gun run climbing tower, bungee run, laser quest and relay races. To enter a team, please call 0115 915 3900 to register your interest.

Admission to the event is free although there will be an event car parking charge of £3.50 for the day.
Wollaton Hall, Gardens & Deer Park is located 3 miles from Nottingham City centre and 15minutes from the M1, J25.
