Veterans Weekend 2008 -  A sucess despite the weather!

An action packed celebration to mark National Veterans Day 2008, took place at Wollaton Hall, Gardens and Deer Park on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 June 2008. As the flagship event for the East Midlands, Veterans Weekend featured a packed arena programme, tours with costumed interpreters, military vehicles, displays and bands, a drumhead service, badge presentations and much more.

The spirits of visitors, staff and entertainters alike were high - despite heavy rain on the Saturday and strong winds on the Sunday! It was a celebratory event to mark the contribution all of our veterans make to society - both in their time of service and in their civilian lives. Visitors both young and old came to enjoy the festivities and honour all service men and women.
