The Central Library holds an important collection of government and parliamentary papers. Highlights of the collection include:

Printed copies of Acts of Parliament from 1540

Printed copies of Hansard (the official journal recording the proceedings of Parliament).
(Please note that these are held in store and contact the library to ensure their availablility.)

Printed copies of the London Gazette (held for 1 year) and access to the online archive

Copies of all House of Commons Parliamentary Papers and Command papers 1801-1944 (on microfiche) and from 1967-2000 (some of these are held in store. Please ask staff for help).

Printed copies of House of Lords papers from 1967-2000 (some of these are held in store. Please ask staff for help).

Printed copies of the Air Force list (1952-date), Army List (1914 - 1918; 1952 - date), and Navy List (1850 - 1905; 1952 - date) (Please check the availability of volumes from the early years)

Printed copies of all Statutory Instruments from 1935

All major government reports both current and historical

Current editions of Halsbury's Laws of England and Halsbury's Statutes
