Electronic information from Nottingham libraries
A wide variety of electronic resources are available both in your local library and, via our web site, at home.
We can provide you with access to over 400 electronic titles - these are grouped together in the services listed on this page. If you would like to see a list of the individual "books" or newpapers/magazines included, please follow the links provided.
You can access all of these resources from your home, school, university or workplace computers; all you need to know is your library membership number (the letter D followed by the first 8 digits) and your PIN.
19th Century British newspapers - view digital copies of all of the main 19th Century British newspapers (selected from across the whole of the UK). In the 19th Century, local newspapers contained a lot of regional and national news, so for example, the "Derby Mercury" will cover much news relating to Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands. Fully searchable by keyword or full-text.

Who's who and Who was Who - published annually since 1849, Who's who contains over 33,000 short biographies, continually updated, of living noteworthy and influential individuals, from all walks of life, worldwide. When a person with an entry dies, their information is uatomatically transferred to Who was who. The combined publications include biographical information on over 130,000 people.

Wilson Play Index - Search for plays by title, author, subject (eg. culture conflict, marriage, etc.); style (eg. symbolism, experimental theatre, etc.); genre (comedy, melodrama, musical, etc.); cast type; and more; limit your results to plays with a specific number of male and/or female roles, or size of total cast.
