Vision of the new Meadows Library Meadows Alive!

Meadows Alive is an exciting project to refurbish and develop the Meadows Library.  It will be funded by the Big Lottery as part of the Community Libraries Programme.  Nottingham City libraries were one of 55 library services throughout the UK to have been chosen.

The Meadows Alive project will take three years to complete, although the Meadows Library will only be fully closed for approximately six months while building works take place.

How will the library be improved?

  • The building will be refurbished to include lots of energy saving features

  • The garden will be brought back into use as a green space for residents to use

  • A community meeting space will be made available outside library opening hours

  • More PCs and WiFi will be installed

  • Opening hours will increase

  • A Homework Club will be introduced

  • There will be more learning opportunities – both 1 to 1 sessions and for groups

  • There will be opportunities for the community to get involved in the planning, delivery and management of library services.
