A free cassette loan service for visually impaired people.

The Nottinghamshire Voices service provides a selection of audio cassettes chosen from the Oral History Collection. Visually impaired customers of both Nottinghamshire County and Nottingham City Library Services may borrow these free of charge.

A list of cassettes in the collection is available. When you have made your choice ask your local library or mobile library to place a request with the Local Studies Library.

Joan Wallace, local author and broadcaster, reads her own book, which draws on her experiences and observations of Radford. Joan vividly describes the ups and downs of daily life for an ordinary family living in the Ilkeston Road area of Nottingham in the 1930s.
