Veterans Weekend – East Midlands Flagship event

Wollaton Hall, an Elizabethan mansion with a 500-acre
deer park provides a magnificent setting for the Veterans Weekend.
Visitors will discover what it was like during WW2 through the eyes of the people who lived, worked, were billeted or POWs at Wollaton Hall. Pegasus mobile museum will be setting up camp in the Great Hall with their massive collection of British WW2 Militaria and Nottinghamshire Children’s Services will be launching a WW2 Spy Trail around the Wollaton Park
The event will be a showcase for our modern armed forces, reserve forces and cadets. A drumhead service, march past and salute will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Falklands conflict and the 40th anniversary of Aden.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service are also masterminding a packed
programme of safety awareness activities and showcasing the latest technology.
