Over
10,000 festival goers are expected for this year’s Splendour at Wollaton Park on Saturday 19th and Sunday
20th July. It will be the first big gig at Wollaton Park for six years.
Splendour offers
a varied, eclectic line up of live acts – a mixture of internationally acclaimed performers, national
and local artists and will be an event that the whole family can enjoy. Set within the picturesque grounds of the stunning Elizabethan Wollaton Hall, a summer festival could
not ask for a better venue.
Parking: £2 a day at Wollaton
Hall.
Following on from the success of last year’s Live
Music Weekend in the Old Market Square and building on this year’s City Pulse and Dot to Dot festival,
Splendour is all set to cement Nottingham’s reputation as a UK capital for live
music and entertainment.
Cllr David Trimble, Nottingham City Council’s Portfolio
Holder for
Community and Culture said:
‘This is a big deal for Nottingham and makes
for
a truly exciting summer in the city. We want this festival to be the first of many – we think Nottingham deserves an event that the whole
city can get behind and enjoy. We’ve got some fantastic acts lined up over the two day festival and but there’ll be lots of other stuff
going on for the whole family to enjoy. The fantastic 40% discount offer for city residents, and 60% discount for Citycard 360 holders is something
we’re proud to be offering and I for one am looking forward to the 19th and 20th July.’
DHP’s
Chairman George Akins said:
‘Splendour will be a fantastic event for
Wollaton
Park and a fantastic event for Nottingham. Nottingham’s reputation as a great city for live music is reflected in the calibre of acts we’ve attracted. I know the acts are excited to play at the city’s first Splendour festival and we’ve got more acts lined
up too. We’re looking forward to establishing Splendour as ‘the’ music event on Nottingham’s calendar.’
