Changes to the Commissioning Body

Given that the 5 Year Strategy (2005-10) has now been agreed and to reflect the by Commissioners advice given by the CLG on the future direction of the programme, from 2005/6 the role of the Commissioning Body Role will focus on:

• Reviewing progress against the Strategy and Annual Plans (bi-annually);
• Agreeing where the direction of the Strategy and Annual Plans should change to reflect emerging needs;
• Agreeing major amendments to the Strategy and Annual Plans in terms of commissioning proposals and implementation timescales.

In addition, the Commissioning Body will receive information relating to:

• Financial updates including expenditure against Annual budgets and changes required to manage grant reductions;
• National changes to the Programme such as the introduction of the Distribution Formula, Audit Commission focus through the CPA and any amended Grant conditions;
• Risk management and contingency arrangements.

Joint Commissioning Group

The Joint Commissioning Group has  been established with delegated authority to Officers from each agency to agree and implement commissioning decisions in line with the strategy.  The Terms of Reference for the new Joint Commissioning Group can be downloaded below. .
