Temporary Accomodation is a key part of provision for homelessness service users in the City. The original section on temporary accommodation in the 2003 Homelessness Strategy was expanded and updated in consultation with service users, providers and funding agencies, resulting in the creation of the Temporary Accommodation Strategy. Key issues addressed include the anture of Direct Access Accommodation provision, throughput of service users, needs assessment of service users and staff training. Many of the recommendations made in the Temporary Accommodation Strategy have been taken forward in the Homelessness Gateway development.
