Nottingham City Council's Adaptations Agency offers a one-stop service to people who need to adapt their home because of a disability or due to the problems associated with increasing age.
Examples of the work we may do range from a handrail over the bath to a walk-in shower. Some of the work is free of charge and there are various schemes available which apply whether you are a tenant or own your home. Different rules apply to different schemes. See the individual pages on the right for more details.
Staff from the Adaptations Agency work closely with Occupational Therapists in Nottingham City Council's Social Services and also with Age Concern, where applicable. Our Joint Protocol Document gives more information on how we work together. This document is currently being updated, and is intended to be reissued in April 2007.
If you qualify for help under any of our schemes, we will undertake all the relevant work for you including the completion of forms and liaising with appropriate agencies.
