On 12 June 2006 a new Choice Based Lettings scheme was launched called Nottingham HomeLink, this is the new way that Nottingham City Homes and most housing associations in Nottingham will let homes.
Nottingham HomeLink means that all available properties owned by either Nottingham City Council, or partner housing associations will be advertised in the local media, on the internet and in local housing offices. People can then tell Nottingham City Homes which ones they are interested in renting.
Nottingham HomeLink works in conjunction with a new, less complex allocations policy that puts applicants into one of six allocation bands that shows more clearly where they are on the waiting list.
Previously, people looking for a home from the City Council or a housing association had to wait to be offered a suitable vacancy.
Applicants registered with the Council or partner housing association can express their interest in the available properties, which will be offered to whoever has the highest priority according to the allocations policy.
Properties will be advertised in Nottingham City Homes’ local housing offices, in the offices of partner housing associations, on the Nottingham City Homes website www.nottinghamhomelink.org.uk and in the Nottingham Evening Post ‘Homes for Rent’ supplement every Monday.
Nottingham HomeLink is a partnership between:

- Guinness Trust Group
- Longhurst Homes
- Metropolitan Housing Trust
- Nene Housing Society Ltd
