Advice About Housing

On 1st April 2005, the management of the housing service for Nottingham City Council properties moved to Nottingham City Homes. Whilst the properties are still owned by Nottingham City Council, you will need to contact your local housing office for advice on tenancy and housing matters.

The following information is for people who are not local authority tenants in the Nottingham City area.

If you have issues surrounding your private tenancy or other issues about the property you live in, Housing Aid is able to provide you with confiential help and advice.

We may be able to prevent you from losing your home. If you are having problems with your housing for whatever reason, the sooner you get in touch with us, the more likely we will be able to help. Our Housing Aid staff can help you with issues such as:

  • Holding on to your home
  • Providing you with support in order to achieve this through our START programme
  • Getting rehoused
  • Homelessness
  • Welfare benefits entitlements
  • Difficulties with landlords
  • Property rights when relationships break down
  • Assistance with Court proceedings
  • Disrepair
  • Housing debt

However, if you think that you may soon become homeless, take a look at the section on this site about homelessness.
