How you fit into the Team
Teamwork is a very important when you are part of the Home Care Service. Flexibility and support for both you and your colleagues is a high priority. The teams are structured as follows:
Home Care Workers (HCWs)
Staff who go to people’s homes and provide the support and care that has been agreed following an assessment by Social Services. They work with the individuals to achieve any agreed personal care goals and continue to promote their independence. They record their work and the progress of the people under their care in the service user’s personal assessed Care Plan. More importantly they provide company, support and become an important part of that person’s life.
Senior Home Care Workers (SHCWs)
Seniors head a team of HCWs. They programme weekly work schedules as well as working closely with other support and health professionals to ensure people continue to receive the very best care. They set-up and apply the care requirements of our clients and spend at least half their working time providing direct care to our clients.
Home Care Managers
Managers work from the Team Office and are responsible for the overall care provision for service-users and carers. They visit clients to carry out health and safety checks and with the active participation of the client, develop a care plan. They co-ordinate several of the care worker teams and the support and care they provide. They help in the recruitment of staff, plan their induction and ensure that all the members of their teams are fully trained and adhere to the guidelines laid down by the Commission of Social Care Inspection (CSCI).
Team Manager
Also working from the Team Office, Team Managers are responsible for the overall service provision for the City, the Home Care Managers and their teams. They take a lead in the recruitment of staff and ensure the smooth running of the Team. They ensure that all staff adhere to the City Council and the Commission of Social Care Inspection regulations. They are all Registered Managers with CSCI.
