The Draft Carers’ Commissioning Strategy is a document written by the Department
of Adult Services, Housing and Health. It has been written with the help from the Carers’ Reference
Group that consists of carers, workers from in-house services and the Voluntary Sector. This strategy
explains how the department is going to continue to provide the kind of services that local carers say
they need to help them in their caring role e.g.
- Advice and information;
- Flexible
breaks services;
- Meeting carers health needs link with health
- Direct
Payments;
- Provision of carers’ services (e.g. emotional support, supporting carers
in employment/work or support to carers in the voluntary sector organisations);
- Young
Carers and
- Access to services to carers from black and minority ethnic communities.
Who
can give their views on the Draft Carers’ Commissioning Strategy?
If
you are an unpaid/informal carer, caring for a husband, wife, family member, relative or friend on a
regular basis we want your views on the strategy.
If you provide a service
or support unpaid/informal carers we also want your views too on the strategy.
The
Draft Carers’ Commissioning Strategy is to be consulted on over the next 3 months. Adult Services, Housing
and Health welcome your views on the strategy.
