Greenweeks – a three week jam-packed
programme of events and activities gets underway
in Nottingham on 26th May. Set to be bigger and better than previous years, Greenweeks promotes and
celebrates a wide range of projects that help to make our city greener, cleaner and healthier.
Over
100 events will be taking place throughout the Greater Nottingham area, involving a wide variety of
local groups, charities, businesses and local authorities, including Nottingham City Council.
As
part of the Greenweeks campaign, the Broadway cinema in Nottingham will be hosting the city’s first
ever Environmental Film Festival. Special screening of a number of films and documentaries will be held
throughout the three weeks from 26th May.
On Saturday 2nd June, an event for
all the family will be held in the city’s Old Market Square to highlight the climate change issue. ‘Everybody’s
Talking (about Climate Change) will involve stalls and activities offering useful tips on how to cut
your carbon emissions and become more environmentally friendly in everyday life.
