Big Spring Clean 2007
The Big Spring Clean campaign ran throughout Nottingham from March 21 until April 27 and demonstrated what can be achieved when schools, businesses, students, and local community come together with the joint aim of making the city a cleaner place for everyone.
Over 50 environmental events took place involving volunteers from 18 community groups and organisations and children and young people from 17 schools. These included community clean-ups, Recycling Roadshows, and a series of environmental education sessions.
Nottingham City Council's Neighbourhood Environmental Action Team supported community events and helped clean up over 30 environmental issues reported by members of the public ,1580 Fly-Tips cleared and 14548 square metres of graffiti removed.
