Street Cleansing
Keeping the streets free from litter is a top priority for local people and a top priority for the Council. Every day our cleaning staff are out on the streets keeping the city looking its best.
- All the city’s streets are cleaned on a regular basis, the majority at least every two weeks.
- Litterbins are emptied frequently to prevent overflowing.
- We will empty a full litterbin within 24 hours of being reported.
- We will take action to stop people from dropping their litter on the street or throwing it out of their car window

What you can do to help us
- Don’t drop litter on the floor – put it in a litterbin.
- If there isn’t a convenient litterbin, please report it and be sure to take your litter home with you
