Nottingham City Council protect the environment by providing a high quality refuse collection and street cleaning service.

We provide households in Nottingham with green bins for general household waste, brown bins with grey lids / blue bags for recycling and brown bins with brown lids for garden waste.

The system of collection in Nottingham is kerbside and bins need to be at the kerbside before 7.00am (green bin) 6.30am (brown bins). View our collection checklist to ensure the safe collection of your wheeled bin.

If you are not on the kerbside recycling scheme local recycling sites are available for a variety of materials including glass and paper, unwanted clothes can be recycled at textile banks and unwanted presents and goods can be taken to charity shops.

We will provide help with assisted collections for households that are unable to take their bin to the kerbside because of disability or ill health.
