On 6 April 2008 a national standard application form became mandatory for all new planning applications. Alongside this, the Government has introduced new information requirements for the validation of planning applications.
A new National List of statutory requirements has been prepared, setting out the minimum information that all applications must include in order to be valid. Local Authorities are also encouraged to adopt their own Local Lists of additional information. The Council must publish and consult on the proposed local validation criteria. Once the local requirements are adopted by the Council, any application failing to satisfy both the national and local criteria will not be valid.
Nottingham City Council's Local Validation Scheme comes into force from 1 October 2008.

Checklists
To accompany the validation requirements, a number of checklists have been produced. Click on the links below to download the appropriate checklist for your application. These must be completed and submitted along with your application, and any documents referred to must be provided. From 1 October 2008 the council will not be able to validate any application where a document is listed as required on the checklist but it has not been provided.
