Nottingham City Council encourages applicants to submit planning applications online, through the Planning Portal. Where an application is submitted online, the Planning Portal will transfer the application details directly into the Council's computer system. The online forms also help you determine the type of consent required. This significantly reduces the risk of an application being submitted on the incorrect form and therefore increases the chances of a valid application being submitted first time. This benefits both the applicant and council staff who process the application, ultimately resulting in a faster decision.

For customers still wishing to submit applications on paper the following forms can be printed off for completion by hand (all forms require Adobe reader).

Although a Design and Access Statement can be written from scratch, the City Council has produced two forms which can be used to guide the preparation of statements for many straightforward developments.
