Parks and Open Spaces

Nottingham offers a range of parks, with facilities and attractions for everyone to enjoy – from our smaller neighbourhood parks to larger City parks which host major events throughout the year. Events include the popular summer Riverside Festival and the Robin Hood Marathon at the Embankment and Goose Fair held every autumn at the Forest.

We aim to offer something for everyone, so whether you’re looking for a place to play, exercise or simply relax – with both indoor and outdoor sporting facilities, popular running and jogging routes, and ornamental gardens – you’re sure to find it here in Nottingham.

As part of an exciting and ambitious programme, a number of parks across the City have already been, are in the progress of or are in line for refurbishment to bring them up to the national Green Flag standards.

In 2005, Nottingham was awarded 7 Green Flag awards – 6 of these parks are managed by the City Council, the seventh is managed by the University of Nottingham. Our refurbishment programme also attracted a commendation from the Nottingham Civic Society.
