Infectious diseases

The Public Health team investigate certain notifiable infectious diseases. We do this to try to prevent the spread of illness and to try and establish possible causes. Advice is also given to the patient on how to prevent the spread of disease within the home.

The infectious diseases we investigate are:

• Giardiasis
• Cryptosporidiosis
• Dysentery
• Hepatitis A
• Scabies
• Typhoid fever
• Legionnaires Disease
