Every year the residents of about 3000 houses ask the team for help to put right problems. If you let us know about a problem with your house, we will contact you and start any necessary action to put things right within the following times:
Our Service Guarantees
If your problem is about:
- Asbestos
- A dangerous building or structure
- Unsafe gas or electric fittings or appliances
- A fire hazard in a House in Multiple Occupation
- A blocked drain
We will contact you within two working days.
If your problem is about:
- An empty or derelict property
- A filthy or verminous property
- A leaking roof
We will contact you within two weeks
If your problem is about:
- A general disrepair problem
- Poor conditions in a house in Multiple Occupation
- Overcrowding
- Home safety
We will contact you within three weeks.
Please note that in exceptional circumstances we may not be able to keep within these times. For example, sometimes we may have to give priority to other public health problems.
We guarantee to make as many visits as necessary to make sure that the problem has been cured.
If you are not normally available during the day, we will make an appointment to visit you on a particular morning or afternoon. However, we are sorry but we cannot normally make appointments for a set time.

Public Health Online Service Request
The Public Health service is part of Nottingham City Council's City Development Department. We can be contacted in person, in writing, and by email. Our office is at Lawrence House, Talbot Street, Nottingham NG1 5NT and is normally open from 8.30am to 4.50pm Monday to Friday. We close for Bank Holidays and over Christmas.
