Building Control is a service that provides building regulations support and advice for developments both within and outside the City. We would like to express our keen interest in the potential for our being able to provide you with Building Control services. • Involvement of members of the building control team, from early stages of the design process through to application, to provide building regulations advice and assistance to the customer, their design team and contractors, in support of the preparation of their proposals prior to formal building regulations submission. This includes the provision of advice, guidance and support on new regulations and legislative change.
• Utilising the local authority partnering scheme, we have been able to work with our customers design teams, to achieve approval for developments where construction is to be undertaken throughout England and Wales.
• Engaging our staff, who specialise in certain forms of construction, where the design approach relies on knowledge of specific legislation and design guides e.g. HTM and fire engineering at the earliest stage in the design process.
• Prompt pre and post application plan checking and advice and the provision of a tailored site inspection service.
• The provision of specialist pre and post application advice, on all aspects of building accessibility from our dedicated and experienced access officer.
• We have our own city based in-house structural engineer who has when required at very short notice, attended site to offer advice and help-extremely useful to both ourselves and our customer, where a quick resolution is sought to an unforeseen structural problem.
• Our undertaking all necessary statutory consultations, in connection with Building Control matters, on your behalf. We also have productive working relationships with other city council sections.
• We produce a tailored service offer that is matched by an equally competitive fee structure.
