The Anti-Bullying Support (ABS) Team
The ABS Team work with schools to improve and support anti-bullying
strategies and initiatives. We believe that an "ethos of care" is vital in the development
and achievement of young people.
Active involvement of trained young people is an important part of our
work. We are especially keen to involve pupils in strategies which will challenge bullying behaviour.
We provide training for young people in:
- Peer counselling
- Peer mediation
- Peer mentoring
- Being a buddy
Other strategies
and intervention which support the pupil voice in a school setting.
We provide training for adults in schools and in LEA services,
through:
- Facilitating Restorative Conferences
- Using restorative processes with young people
- Establishing and supervising peer support schemes
- Work with school councils
- Citizenship work
- Any strategies which support the pupil voice
- Any interventions which promote anti-bullying work
- We aim to work with any Nottingham City school to support and develop anti-bullying
strategies
