Children’s Services is ambitious for our children and young people and recognizes the wealth of gifts and talents across the City.

A tailored education means addressing the needs of the most gifted and talented, just as much as those who are struggling. These children will come from every background. Children from disadvantaged backgrounds are just as likely to be gifted and talented as those from the middle class, and may need greater support to fulfill their potential. (White Paper)

In Nottingham we:

• Strive to provide appropriate stretch in the classroom and develop higher level skills.
• Provide G&T CPD days and programmes for teachers and education colleagues, for example, on identification, thinking tools, philosophy for children.
• Provide challenging and fun experiential events for all ages, including archaeology, advanced maths, dance roadshows and an ‘Invention Convention’.
