City South Schools Partnership

The City South Schools Education Improvement Partnership aims to raise levels of achievement and improve outcomes for children and young people in Clifton and the Meadows. The EIP, which formed in 2007, has identified the following as key priorities:

  • To work with partners to support Every Child Matters outcomes.
  • To promote life-long learning through ICT.
  • To raise literacy levels.
  • To develop transition procedures.

Projects include:

  • ICT Co-ordinator Network for teachers to share knowledge and expertise, and explore innovative ways of raising attainment.
  • Becta Project, ICT resources and support to help schools achieve the ICT Becta Mark.
  • Megaread, a project run in partnership with Nottingham City Library Service to ignite a passion for reading.
  • Advanced Skills Teacher Project inspiring and supporting the teaching of literacy across the EIP.
  • Family Learning Homework Clubs supporting pupils with literacy, ICT and maths.
  • Getting Ready For Nursery Sessions for parents and young children.
  • Every Child Matters Workers working with children and their families in all primary schools.
  • Positive Play Project, training and support for midday supervisors and Y5 children to promote positive play during lunchtimes.
  • Behaviour and Attendance Network for school staff to share good practise, aiming to improve pupil behaviour and levels of attendance.
