The Council’s Performance
As part of
our Performance Management Framework, Corporate Performance is reported every three months. These Quarterly Performance Reports are considered by the Senior Management Team, councillors who are
portfolio holders and the council’s Scrutiny Panels. They have been included on the website to make information about our performance more accessible to
all councillors and to the public.
The Council is judged on a set of performance
indicators defined by the Government. These performance indicators feed into our Comprehensive Performance
Assessment
(how well we manage the Council and deliver services) and the Direction of Travel Report (how
we have
improved in the last year). The indicators considered to be most important locally are contained in our Corporate
Plan.
The quarterly reports are designed to drive performance
improvements
and they therefore focus on those priority performance indicators which can be measured quarterly. These priority indicators are:
- Indicators contained in our Corporate
Plan
- Indicators used to inform our Direction of Travel Assessment
- Bottom
Quartile Best Value Performance Indicators – those indicators in which we are performing less well than
other authorities
