Information Governance Complaints Procedure

If you are not satisfied with the response provided to your request for information under the Data Protection Act 1998, the Freedom of Information Act 2000 or the Environmental Information Regulation 2004 you should write in the first instance to the Information Governance Manager, Information Governance, The Guildhall, Burton Street, Nottingham, NG1 4BT stating the reasons for your dissatisfaction. If you wish to discuss your case with an Officer within Information Governance please contact by email at information.governance@nottinghamcity.gov.uk or telephone 0115 9154155.

Your complaint will be acknowledged within 48 hours.

A person not involved with the original decision, usually the Information Governance Manager will then review your case in detail, treating it as an appeal. In line with the Information Commissioner's guidance, we aim to respond to your complaint within 20 working days.

If you remain dissatisfied after receiving a response to your appeal you can request an independent review from the Information Commissioner's Office at DPA/FOI/EIR Complaints Resolution, Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
