Cemeteries and Crematorium

The Cemeteries and Crematorium are within the Department of Parks and Open Spaces.

The service is responsible for the management of six active cemeteries, fourteen disused burial grounds and the Wilford Hill Crematorium.

Our caring and sensitive team offers advice and help relating to burial and cremations.taking into account different cultural needs. The team can also provide information help and advice relating to memorials. Our grounds, chapels and memorial areas are maintained to a high standard.

The Government's Cabinet Office awarded the Charter Mark to the service in 1999 and this was renewed in December 2002 for a further 3 year period for excellence in Customer Service. This award was again renewed for a further 3 year period in 2005.
