Trading Standards wants to make sure that consumers are protected when they buy goods and services, and that reputable businesses can operate on a level playing field. We do this by:
Our enforcement policy sets out what businesses can expect from our enforcement officers. It commits us to good enforcement policies and procedures. Click on the buttons on the left for more information, a range of leaflets which will help you understand and comply with the law and links to other relevant websites. The Business Factsheets on the right explain more about Trading Standards and how you can work with us to the benefit of consumers and your business. For detailed online information visit the Ask CEdRIC web site. This has been created by Trading Standards professionals to provide businesses with a free one-stop website that covers all types of businesses and all relevant legislation. Ask CEdRIC does the hard work - you simply tell CEdRIC what type of business it is and the legislation affecting the business will be drawn together automatically. The site also contains Business Training Modules that can be downloaded or worked through on-line.
