Nottingham's social enterprises now have a dedicated website supported by ERDF. The website is managed in partnership between Urban Social Enterprise webdesign and Nottingham City Council Social Economy Team and has information on products and services available from social enterprises.

Social enterprises are trading organisations that are set up and typically owned by and controlled by the community or representatives of the community. The social economy plays a major factor in local communities because it often provides goods and services and employs people disengaged from the local economy. The social economy is often referred to as part of the 'Third Sector', which consists of community organisations, churches, clubs, associations, co-operatives, mutual, non-profit organisations, unions and societies.
