Nine Easy Steps for New Traders at our Outdoor Markets

1. All casual Traders at Nottingham City Markets should report to the Market Officer who will be at the market from 8.30am. If you are a new trader you need to be registered on the casual list.
2. All traders must provide proof of an original and current £5,000,000 Third Party Public Liability Insurance (photocopies will not be accepted).
3. You will also be asked to provide two forms of identification, (acceptable forms of identification are household bills, bank statements etc which show your name & current address).
4. You will be asked to complete a casual application form. This information is subject to the Data Protection Act and will only be used by us for monitoring purposes. This information will be added to our market trader database and will be used to keep you informed of any changes relating to our markets.
5. Casual allocations are made at 9am on the basis of seniority - that is, those traders who have been attending the market longest receive the highest priority. (At some of our markets preference is given to none clothing traders). Within reason the Market Officer will ensure that traders selling similar goods are not located in the same area.
6. If successful you will be allocated a stall / pitch for the day. (Please note in the interest of Health & Safety traders vehicles are allowed on the market until 9am and may not return until the market closes)
7. The stall / pitch rent is payable on demand (you should ensure you bring sufficient money with you to the market in order to pay the rent at the first time of asking).
