Any person or business carrying out an activity which pierces the skin, i.e. ear piercing, electrolysis, tattooing, acupuncture, must register the person or business and the premises with the local Council, in accordance with the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982.

On application, premises will be inspected to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and will be inspected periodically after that.
