The Licensing Commitee and its sub-committees (the Licensing Panels)
hear matters relating to the Licensing Act 2003, the Gambling Act 2005 and matters purtinent to these
regimes. The Regulatory Committee deals with matters involving other licensing regimes including taxi
licensing, sex establishments and street trading.
Meetings of the Licensing Committee and Licensing Panels are called
as required and these are notified by Public Notice at the Guildhall, Burton Street and Council House,
Old Market Square, Nottingham..
Meetings normally start at 10 a.m. The Licensing Committee and Regulatory
Committee meetings are held whereever possible in the Committee Room, 2nd floor, Council House, Market
Square, Nottingham. In other cases the Licensing Service will be able to advise the whereabouts of a
prearranged meeting.
Specific requirements for making applications can be requested via the
Licensing and Registration Service. At least two weeks notice is required in such
instances.
The timing of a hearing cannot be guaranteed as the working of the committees
depends on the number of matters before the meeting, and the time taken for each matter to be heard
and determined. Those attending committee should arrive in plenty of time before the advertised start
of the meeeting otherwise hearings may proceed in the absence of an absent party to the hearing. Please
note that there are no facilities for photocopying, faxing or e-mailing.
