Any premises used for the purpose of trading in pet animals must have a licence issued by the Council in accordance with the Pet Animals Act 1951.

The Council will arrange for the premises to be inspected by an Environmental Health Officer to ensure the accommodation is suitable for the welfare of the animals.  The licence will be issued subject to compliance with licence conditions and payment of the licence fee.
