Nottingham City Council introduces the Citycard 360

Nottingham City Council introduces the new Citycard 360 – a bus pass, library and leisure centre card and retail discount card all rolled into one. And, it’s free to all 11-17 year olds in the city!

Today (Friday 9th May), Citycard 360 is teaming up with its parent - the original Citycard for adults/over 18s - and with Splendour Festival, to offer cardholders an amazing summer offer.

Splendour in Nottingham, at Wollaton Park on 19th and 20th July this year, is set to be the city’s music event of 2008 with headline acts including Kate Nash, Paolo Nutini and the Charlatans already confirmed. Cardholders are being offered tickets at a discounted price – just £10 a day – this represents a weekend discount of £30, or 60% off. This fantastic offer is exclusive to Citycard 360 and is just the first in a whole host of special offers card holders can look forward to.

Other retail discounts for the Citycard 360 so far include the Ice Arena, the Screen Room, Shudokan Aikido and Wilder Clothing – with many more to be added over the coming weeks and months. The Citycard 360 is also a travel card which can be used on all NCT buses in Greater Nottingham by topping up credit at the NCT travel office. In addition it can be used at all City leisure centres – many giving 50% off activities to card owners - and can be used in all City and County libraries.

All 11-17 year old city residents are eligible for the Citycard 360 and are being encouraged to register for their card by phone on 0870 850 3830 or online at: www.citycard360.co.uk .

Over 5000 young people have already registered for their card and have had their photograph for it taken at school. They will get their card, and information about how they can use it, through the post from Monday (12th May).

Cllr Jon Collins, Leader of Nottingham City Council said:

‘The Citycard 360 is the latest in the Citycard scheme and will be a great all-round accessory for the city’s young people. Getting one couldn’t be easier and using it is simpler still. With such great discounts on offer we expect the scheme to be very popular. The offer of such a great discount at Nottingham’s Splendour Festival should provide a great incentive for young people in the city to get their hands on their Citycard 360. Once young people have their free Citycard 360 they will be informed of new offers and developments and the benefits this new card brings will continue to grow.’
