In Nottingham City the Council is re-elected every four years. As the
last council elections were in 2003, the next Local Elections for Nottingham City are due to take place
on Thursday 3rd May 2007. In Local Elections the city is split up into 20 Wards which are represented
by either two or three Councillors. The electorate votes for their preferred choice of either two or
three candidates, depending on the size of the Ward. To assume control of the council, a party must
gain a majority of the seats.
