Health & Safety Licensing and Registration

On receipt of an application for the following licences or registrations:-

Licences Registrations
Dog breeding Tattooing
Riding schools Electrolysis
Animal boarding Acupuncture
Pet shops Ear piercing
Performing animals
Dangerous wild animals
Massage
Sunbeds
Saunas
(and some other similar processes)

An officer from the Health and Safety Enforcement Section will carry out an inspection of the premises to be licensed or registered and will discuss the standards with the applicant which must be met. These will cover practices and procedures (copies of procedures can be obtained from our Licensing Section). Licensing Act 2003 Guidance

The Health and Safety and Food Safety teams have issued guidance for applicants applying for licences under the Licensing Act 2003. The purpose of the guidance is to assist applicants in complying with the requirements of those teams.
