
Too many children today lack the opportunity for adequate communal play experiences
due to social, environmental and economic disadvantages. This restriction on children's freedom to explore
their own independence has placed an added burden on parents and carers.
It is often difficult to provide the raw materials for imaginative and creative
play in and around the home.
These factors make it essential that safe play space is
provided and that supervised opportunities for play are organised where trained adults recognise and
meet the play needs of children.
