The next deadline for registering your interest in the Grant Scheme is 30 June 2019.
Due to the huge popularity of the grants, for this next round we are only inviting expressions of interest for the current priority areas of:
- Market Street
- Angel Row
- Wheeler Gate
- Around the Old Market Square
We are unable to consider grants outside of the priority areas until later in the year. However we are happy to accept expressions of interest in grants outside of the priority areas and keep them on record to be considered later in the year.
Grants are only available for exterior works, to commercial properties that are historic buildings
Please see the Grant Forms and Advice section to find out how to register your interest.
Works eligible for funding
Funding is available for conservation-led repairs and improvements to commercial properties, including:
- Reinstating original historic features that have been lost such as sliding sash windows and traditional shop fronts where clear evidence exists to inform the appearance and details
- Joinery repairs to original doors and windows
- Masonry repairs, indenting with new bricks, repointing in lime mortar
- Re-introducing cast iron rainwater goods, iron railings and/or chimney stacks
- Traditional signwriting
Please note: Grants will not be offered for routine maintenance, redecoration, internal repairs or works that involve the reversal of alterations that are themselves of quality and interest.
If you are the owner, leaseholder or tenant of a historic building in the Old Market Square, Lace Market or Sneinton Market Conservation Area you could be eligible for a grant.
