The inner city award winning Meadows development of 55 new homes for Nottingham families, was the first social housing project in the UK to be designed using Building Information Modelling (BIM) – an innovative process that involves creating digital 3D models to identify potential issues in design early on, and to maximise value for money.
The development comprises 42 two-bed houses, four three-bed houses and nine two-bed bungalows, and was built across four different areas in the Meadows estate. It includes a new children’s play area, developed and donated by contractor partner Keepmoat Regeneration.
The Meadows properties also have innovative sun tubes that bring up to 70% more natural light into the properties and help to combat fuel poverty.
The proposed Meadows police station development for private rent will be owned by Nottingham City Homes, and will be a high profile milestone in the development of LiviNG Nottingham City Homes market rent company.
Creating a landmark gateway to the Meadows, the development on the site of the old police station, will comprise 21 premium new build apartments, and works will start in 2018.
The design of the building will be integrated into its surroundings to give a contemporary look and feel at the edge of the NG2 business park.
